ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for manufacturing a padded element by adhering a trim cover to a cushion member is provided. Generally, the process comprises placing a liquid foamable polymeric composition in an open recess which is provided in the cushion member. During the process the foamable composition expands to fill substantially the open recess and to adhere the cushion member to a trim cover. Preferably, the inner surface of the trim cover comprises a material, such as a foam layer, for enhanced adhesion to the foamable polymeric composition after expansion. The process may be used to manufacture a variety of padded elements such as components of vehicle seats (e.g. seat cushion, backrest, headrest), components for use in other types of seat systems (e.g. boats, snowmobiles, office furniture), pillar covers, trim panels in vehicles and the like.
