The process comprises the following steps: formation of a porous fibrous reinforcing structure; introduction of powders into the pores of the fibrous structure, said powders containing constituent elements of the matrix of the composite; and formation of at least the main part of the matrix from said powders, by reaction between the powders and/or with at least one additional element supplied; the powders introduced into the fibrous structure and the element(s) supplied comprising elements for forming at least one discontinuous healing matrix phase comprising a boron compound and at least one discontinuous matrix phase comprising a compound having a crack-deflecting lamellar structure. The formation of at least the main part of the matrix is obtained by the chemical reaction between the powders introduced into the fibrous structure and at least one additional element supplied, or by sintering the powders.
Le procédé comprend les étapes de : formation d'une structure de renfort fibreuse poreuse; introduction dans la porosité de la structure fibreuse de poudres contenant des éléments constitutifs de la matrice du matériau composite; et formation d'au moins une partie principale de la matrice à partir desdites poudres, par voie réactive entre les poudres et/ou avec au moins un élément additionnel apporté; les poudres introduites dans la structure fibreuse et le ou les élément(s) apporté(s) comprenant des éléments de formation d'au moins une phase de matrice discontinue cicatrisante comportant un composé bore et au moins une phase de matrice discontinue comportant un composé à structure lamellaire déviateur de fissures. La formation d'au moins une partie principale de la matrice est obtenue avec réaction chimique entre les poudres introduites dans la structure fibreuse et au moins un élément additionnel apporté, ou par frittage des poudres.
