The invention concerns a process for manufacturing alkylimidazolidone (meth)acrylates of the formula (see Figure I), in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom or methyl group, A and B each independently represent a straight or branched chain of 2 to 5 carbon atoms, by reaction of at least one (meth)acrylate of the formula (see Figure II), in which R1 has the above meaning and R2 represents an alkyl group in C1-C4, with a heterocyclic alcohol of the formula (see Figure III), in which A and B have the above meanings, in presence of sodium methylate as a catalyst. The process according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the sodium methylate is introduced in solution, gradually throughout the synthesis. The invention makes it possible to increase the yield of compounds of formula (I) and the conversion of the compound of formula (II).

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de (méth)acrylates d'alkylimidazolidone répondant à la formule: (voir fig.I) dans laquelle R1 représente un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe méthyle, A et B représentent chacun indépendamment une chaîne hydrocarbonée droite ou ramifiée, ayant de 2 à 5 atomes de carbone, par réaction d'au moins un (méth)acrylate de formule: (voir fig.II) dans laquelle R1 a la signification précitée et R2 représente un groupe alkyle en C1-C4, avec un alcool hétérocyclique de formule: (voir fig.III) dans laquelle A et B ont les significations précitées, en présence de méthylate de sodium comme catalyseur. Le procédé selon l'invention est caractérisé par le fait que l'on introduit le méthylate de sodium en solution, de façon progressive tout au long de la synthèse. L'invention permet d'améliorer le rendement en composée de formule (I) et la conversion du composé de formule (II).
