The process for manufacturing a band ring having a predetermined diameter includes extruding a metal to form a hollow tube. The hollow tube is then formed into a coil having a diameter of the same order to the predetermined diameter. The coil is then cut to form a segment of hollow tubing having a precise predetermined length. The segment of hollow tubing is then held while the ends of the segment are moved and held into abutting relationship with each other. The abutting ends of the segment of hollow tubing are then connected to each other to form a band having a seam at the junction of the abutting ends. An overall finish is then provided to the band until the seam is no longer visible to form a band ring.
