Abstract Process for manufacturing cast components with integrally cast, at least approximately gas-tight high-temperature insulation A casting with an inner high-temperature thermal insulation (2) is manufactured using the full-mould casting process such that efficient, flaw-free mass production of castings with thin walls and close tolerances is feasible. As a result of the impermeability to gas of the high-temperature insulation (2), however, the steam in the expansion mould cannot be routed transversely through the wall of the model. Because of the insulation effect of the high-temperature insulation (2) it is feasible to route the steam over the periphery of the model and extract it at the opposite side without its heat content becoming too low in the region of the steam outlet to permit complete expansion there.
