PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING CYLINDER-SHAPED HOLLOW PARTS Abstract of the Disclosure The herein disclosed process relates to mechanical en- gineering techniques and, more particularly, it relates to the manufacture of cylinder-shaped hollow parts. This process enables one to manufacture parts having low surface roughness in a high yield. The process resides essentially in that a hollow blank is produced by electroslag melting at a rate of casting the blank of 0.3 to 0.6 mm/s, after that, the hollow blank is surface hardened by a plasma jet shaped in a plasma generator with a current strength of 220-320 A, at a linear revolution rate of the blank relative to the plasma generator of 3 to 10 mm/s and a gap between the plasma generator and the blank of 2 to 10 mm; thereupon, the finishing step is per- formed by way of magnetoabrasive treatment wherein pole pieces are imparted vibrations the product of whose frequency by the length of the blank surface being treated covered by the pole pieces is selected to be divisible by an integer within the tenfold linear rate of the blank revolution.
