L'invention a pour objet un procédé continu de fabrication du difluorométhane (F32) à partir de chlorure de méthylène (F30) et d'acide fluorhydrique en présence de chlore, en phase gazeuse sur un catalyseur de fluoration. Selon l'invention, on soumet le flux gazeux sortant du réacteur à une distillation pour séparer en tête un flux contenant la quasi-totalité de l'HC1 et au moins 90% du F32 produits par la réaction et en pied un flux contenant au moins 90% des réactifs ou des intermédiaires non transformés (F31, F30 et HF), et on recycle ce dernier flux directement au réacteur, sans aucun opération de purification. Le fait de pouvoir effectuer, sans inconvénients, un recyclage direct du flux des produits non réagis est particulièrement avantageux.
