PROCEDE POUR MARQUER UN OBJET DANS LE BUT DE POUVOIR DETECTER CET OBJET A DISTANCE EN CAS DE PERTE OU DE VOL - A B R E G E On fixe, sur l'objet à marquer, d'une manière non identifiable par l'oeil humain, une quantité d'au moins une substance odorante qu'il est physiologiquement impossible à percevoir pour l'odorat humain, mais qui est suffisante pour être perçue à distance par un animal dont on sait qu'il sera apte à rechercher l'origine de l'odeur émise par ladite (ou lesdites) substance(s) odorante(s) et/ou qu'il manifestera un comportement donné en présence de celle(s)-ci. On pour- ra utiliser une détection par des animaux comme les canidés et les insectes (blattes, abeilles, et papillons); les subs- tances odorantes seront notamment constituées par des subs- tances dont on sait qu'elles peuvent être détectées spéci- fiquement et spontanément par un aminal à des seuils extré- mement bas ( .alpha. -ionone pour le canidé) ou encore des susb- tances pheromonales ( sexuelles ou d'alerte) qui entraînent chez un animal placé à distance, une modification de son comportement.
