Process for recovering and moving highly viscous petroleum derivatives by the formation of aqueous dispersions in the presence of water with a salinity of more than 0.6% by weight, particularly from 1 to 15% by weight, with the use of hydrosoluble sulfonated disper- sants, said process being characterized in that the above sulfonated dispersants have a content of the high molecular weight fraction, determined by SEC analysis (Size Exclusion Chromatography), of more than 4%.
