ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The base paper, according to the invention, comprises at least on one face : - a first coat or base coat of a conventional coating slip applied at the rate of 3 to 25 g/m2, - at least one superposed coat, applied at the rate of 1 to 10 gm and containing conventional pigments, at least one conventional binder and gloss pigments in the proportion of at least 20% parts by weight of the conventional pigments filler, and having a granulometry comprised between 0.05 and 1 µm, and being preferably around 0.5 µm. The invention finds an application in the production of a high gloss paper.
