The efficiency and cost effectiveness of a combination of an isomerization process and a liquid phase adsorptive separation process is increased by the elimination of a column for the separation of desorbent material from selectively retained components thereby enabling direct recycle of the extract stream to the isomerization zone without intermediate fractionation. By decreasing the ratio of normal paraffin desorbent to the selective pore volume circulation rate, the extract column can be eliminated without providing other means for the rejection or recovery of desorbent material prior to recycle to the isomerization step. This reduction in the ratio of normal paraffin desorbent to selective pore volume circulation rate has been found not to decrease the recovery from the adsorption section. In an alternate arrangement, the extract column is replaced with a deisohexanizer column. The deisohexanizer containing column configuration can be used to produce a C5-C6 product stream having research octane numbers of 93 or greater.

L'efficacité et la rentabilité de la combinaison d'un procédé d'isomérisation et d'un procédé à phase liquide de séparation par adsorption sont améliorés par l'élimination d'une colonne pour séparer la matière désorbante des composantes sélectivement retenues, ce qui permet de recycler directement l'extrait en circulation à la zone d'isomérisation sans fractionnement intermédiaire. La configuration de la colonne contenant le déisohexaneur peut servir à produire une gamme de produits C5-C6 ayant un indice d'octane recherche de 93 ou plus.
