A process for pigmenting wood, which comprises treating wood in succession: a) with a solution comprising from 0.01 to 80 % by weight, based on the solution, of a compound of the formula: A(B)x (I), in which x is an integer from 1 to 8, and from 0.05 to 5 % by weight, based on the solution, of a salt of the formula: Kat+.An- (II), Kat+.1/2An2- (III) or Kat+.1/3An3- (IV), in which Kat+ is lithium, sodium, potassium or ammonium, An- is formate, acetate, propionate or hydrogen carbonate, An2- is oxalate, maleate, fumarate, malonate, carbonate or hydrogen phosphate, and An3- is citrate or phosphate, in water or an organic solvent or in a single-phase mixture thereof, b) with a solution comprising from 0.01 to 50 % by weight, based on the solution, of an organic C1-C6carboxylic acid in water or an organic solvent or in a single-phase mixture thereof, and c) converting the compound of the formula (I) thermally to a pigment of the formula A(H)x (V).

L'invention concerne un procédé de pigmentation du bois, consistant à traiter le bois successivement: a) à l'aide d'une solution comprenant - de 0,01 à 80 % en poids, par rapport à la solution, d'un composé représenté par la formule: A(B)¿x?(I), dans laquelle x est un entier relatif compris entre 1 et 8, et - de 0,05 à 5 % en poids, par rapport à la solution, d'un sel représenté par la formule: Kat?+¿.An?-¿(II), Kat?+¿.1/2An?2-¿(III) ou Kat?+¿.1/3An?3-¿ (IV), dans laquelle Kat?+¿ représente du lithium, du sodium, du potassium ou de l'ammonium, An?-¿ représente un formiate, un acetate, un propionate ou un carbonate d'hydrogène, An?+¿ représente un oxalate, un maléate, un fumarate, un malonate, un carbonate ou un phospate d'hydrogène, et An?3-¿ représente un citrate ou un phosphate, dans de l'eau ou dans un solvant organique ou dans un mélange monophasé de ces éléments, b) à l'aide d'une solution comprenant de 0,01 à 50 % en poids, par rapport à la solution, d'un acide carboxylique organique C¿1?-C¿6? dans de l'eau ou dans un solvant organique ou dans un mélange monophasé de ces éléments, puis c) à transformer par la chaleur le composé représenté par la formule (I) en un pigment représenté par la formule A(H)¿x? (V).
