A process for polymerization of .alpha.-olefin comprises polymerizing an .alpha.-olefin in the presence of a catalyst containing the following catalyst components (A), (B) and (C): (A) a solid catalyst containing magnesium, titanium, a halogen element and an electron donor indispensably, (B) an organoaluminum compound, and (C) an orgnaosilicon compound represented by the following general formula: R12Si(OR2)2 (wherein R1 is an unsubstituted cyclic amino group, and R2 is a C1-24 hydrocarbon group). The process can produce an .alpha.-olefin polymer high in stereoregularity, melt flowability and melt flow rate. The process can also reduce a problem of the high pressure resistance to be ordinarily possessed by the reactor in bulk polymerization because of the hydrogen filled in a large amount.

Méthode pour polymériser une alpha-oléfine, consistant à polymériser une alpha-oléfine en présence d'un catalyseur renfermant les constituants catalytiques A, B et C suivants : A) catalyseur solide renfermant du magnésium, du titane, un atome d'halogène et un donneur d'électrons, et ce obligatoirement; B) un composé organique de l'aluminium; C) un composé organosilicié représenté par la formule générale R12Si(OR2)2 (où R1 est un groupe amino cyclique sans substitution, et R2 un groupe hydrocarboné en C1-24). Le procédé peut donner un polymère alpha-oléfinique stériquement très régulier, possédant une fluidité à chaud et un indice de fusion élevés. Le procédé peut également résoudre un problème de résistance à haute pression que l'on retrouve généralement dans un réacteur de polymérisation en masse, en raison de la forte charge d'hydrogène.
