ABSTRACT l-Alkenes are polymerized or copolymerized using a catalyst system comprising a titanium halide, optionally complexed with a Lewis base, on an anhydrous magnesium- or manganefe-halide carrier and an organo-aluminum component consisting of a complex of an ester of a carboxylic acid and a trialkyl-aluminum, and a dialkyl-aluminum halide.
