ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pretreatment process to remove entrapped air from liquid polyester blends intended as the matrix of cast marble is disclosed. The formulated blend is subjected to a simultaneous evacuating, vibrating and shearing step which is critical within broad parameters. The thus treated blend, after casting, will be non-porous in cross section, thereby making it suitable for countertops and other parts which must be field cut to specifications.
