Disclosed is a process for hydrogenating 3-hydroxypropionic acid, or esters thereof, or mixtures of the acid and the ester, in a liquid phase, in the presence of a ruthenium catalyst, alone, or in combination with at least one or more additional metal catalyst wherein the metal is molybdenum, tungsten, titanium, zirconium, niobium, vanadium, chromium, or mixtures of the metals.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'hydrogéner l'acide 3-hydroxypropionique, ou certains de ses esters, voire encore des mélanges de l'acide et de l'ester, dans une phase liquide, en présence d'un catalyseur au ruthénium. Ce catalyseur au ruthénium s'utilise seul ou en association avec au moins un autre catalyseur métallique. En l'occurrence, l'autre catalyseur est le molybdène, le tungstène, le titane le zirconium, le niobium, le vanadium, le chrome, ou certains de leurs mélanges.
