The present invention provides a process for preparation of 3-substituted benzisothiazole represented by the general formula (IV) (see formula IV) wherein R2 represents H, alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or substituted alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which comprises halogenating a 2-cyanophenylthio derivative represented by the general formula (II): (see formula II) wherein R1 represents H, alkaline metal, 2-cyanophenylthio group or straight or branched alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, to obtain 2-cyanobenzenesulfenyl halide represented by the general formula (I) (see formula I) wherein X represent Cl or Br, then reacting the halide represented by the general formula (I) with a piperazine compound represented by the general formula (III): (see formula III) wherein R2 represents H, alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or substituted alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms.

La présente invention est un procédé pour la préparation d'un benzisothiazole substitué en position 3, représenté par la formule générale (IV) (voir la formule IV), où R2 est un H, un groupement alkyle comptant 1 à 6 atomes de carbone ou un groupement alkylène substitué comptant 1 à 6 atomes de carbone, procédé consistant à halogéner un dérivé 2-cyanophénylthio de formule générale (II) (voir la formule II), où R1 est un H, un métal alcalin, un groupement 2-cyanophénylthio ou un groupement alkyle à chaîne droite ou ramifiée comptant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, afin d'obtenir un halogénure de 2-cyanobenzènesulfényle de formule générale (I) (voir la formule I), où X est un Cl ou un Br, puis à faire réagir l'halogénure de formule générale (I) avec une pipérazine de formule générale (III) (voir la formule III), où R2 est un H, un groupement alkyle comptant 1 à 6 atomes de carbone ou un groupement alkylène substitué comptant 1 à 6 atomes de carbone.
