Disclosed is a process for producing the epoxy steroid (1.0) wherein R1 is selected from H, -OH, or C1, and R2 is selected from hydrogen or lower alkyl. The process comprises reacting the triene of Formula (2.0) with a brominating or chlorinating agent in DMF containing a catalytic amount of 70 % HC1O4, at a temperature of about 0 to about +40 ~C to produce the corresponding bromoformate (3.0) or chloroformate (3.0A) wherein when R1 is H then R3 is H; and when R1 is -OH then R3 is a suitably protected -OH group; and when R1 is C1 then R3 is C1. The bromoformate or chloroformate is then reacted, at a temperature of about -20 to about +10 ~C, with a strong base in an organic solvent mixture comprising: (a) THF or CH2C12 and (b) a C1 to C6 alkanol or acetonitrile, to produce the epoxy steroid (1.0).
Un procédé permet de produire un stéroïde époxy de la formule (1.0) où R?1¿ est choisi parmi H, -OH, ou C1, et R?2¿ est choisi entre hydrogène ou alkyle inférieur. Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir un triène de formule (2.0) avec un agent de bromination ou de chloration dans du DMF contenant une quantité catalytique de 70 % de HCl¿4?, à une température allant de 0 à 40 ·C environ, pour produire le bromoformate de la formule (3.0) ou le chloroformate de la formule (3.0A) dans lesqulles si R?1¿ représente H, R?3¿ représente également H; si R?1¿ représente -OH, R?3¿ représente un groupe -OH judicieusement protégé; et si R?1¿ représente C1, R?3¿ représente également C1. On fait alors réagir ce bromoformate ou chloroformate, à une température allant d'environ -20 ·C à +10 ·C, avec une base forte dans un mélange de solvants organiques comprenant: (a) THF ou CH¿2?C1¿2?, et (b) un C¿1-6? alcanol ou acétonitrile, afin de produire le stéroïde époxy de la formule (1.0).
