ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A coal slurry of high concentration but low viscosity was prepared by classifying pulverized coal. into two or more groups of different particle size ranges, mixing these two or more groups of coals having different particle size ranges in such proportions as to give a void of 30% or less of the mixture, and adding a medium to this coal mixture to form a slurry, whereby reduction of the slurry transportation cost has become possible.
