"PROCESS FOR PREPARING 1,1,1-TRIFLUORO-2,2-DICHLOROETHANE" Abstract of the Disclosure 1,1,1-trifluoro-2,2-dichloroethane is continuously prepared by reacting, in the gas phase, 1,1,1-trifluoro-2- chloroethane with chlorine, preventing the formation of the by- product 1,1,1-trifluoro-trichloroethane by causing the reaction to occur with chlorine organic compound in molar ratios not higher than 1, at a temperature of from 350°C to 450°C and with residence times of the reagents in the reactor ranging from 5 to 25 seconds.
