The invention relates to a method for producing 1,3-dioxolane-2-ones of general formula (3) in basic reaction conditions by reesterifying the respective ester of general formula (1) in which R1 to R5 have the meanings indicated in the claims and the description. The invention further relates to a method for producing 2-hydroxy carboxylic acid esters of general formula (5) with or without isolation of the intermediate in the form of a derivative of the 1,3-dioxolane-2-one of general formula (3) in basic reaction conditions by reesterifying the respective ester of general formula (1) in which R1, R2, and R6 have the meanings indicated in the claims and the description. The method according to the invention allows the reaction to take place in very gentle basic conditions, causing fewer secondary reactions and providing a greater yield than reactions in highly polar aprotic solvents. Acid-sensitive and/or temperature- sensitive compounds can be synthesized.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de 1,3-dioxolane-2-ones de formule générale (3) dans des conditions réactionnelles basiques par transestérification de l'ester correspondant de formule générale (1), R1 à R5 ayant les significations indiquées dans les revendications et la description. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé de production d'esters d'acide 2-hydroxycarboxylique de formule générale (5) avec ou sans isolement de l'intermédiaire sous la forme d'un dérivé de 1,3-dioxolane-2-one de formule générale (3) dans des conditions réactionnelles basiques par transestérification de l'ester correspondant de formule générale (1), R1, R2 et R6 ayant les significations indiquées dans les revendications et la description. Le procédé selon l'invention permet de mettre en oeuvre la réaction dans des conditions basiques très douces qui, comparativement à des réactions dans des solvants aprotiques fortement polaires, produisent moins de réactions secondaires et fournissent un meilleur rendement. Une synthèse de composés sensibles à l'acide et/ou à la température est possible.
