The invention relates to a process for preparing 1-octene by reacting 1,3- butadiene with a telogen of the formula H-X-Y-H, where X is O, N, S or P and Y is C, N or Si and X and Y bear, depending on their valence, further substituents, in the presence of a telomerization catalyst to form a telomer of the formula H2C=CH-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH=CH-CH2-X-Y-H, partially hydrogenating the telomer to form a 1-substituted 2-octene of the formula H3C-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH=CH-CH2-X-Y-H and dissociating the 1- substituted 2-octene to give 1-octene.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de 1-octène. Ledit procédé consiste à transformer 1,3-butadiène en présence d'un catalyseur de télomérisation, avec un télogène de formule générale H-X-Y-H, X étant O, N, S ou P, Y étant C, N ou Si, X et Y portant d'autres substituants en fonction de leur valence, en un télomère de formule générale H2C=CH-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH=CH-CH2-X-Y-H, à hydrater partiellement le télomère en 2-octène substitué en position 1 de formule H3C-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH=CH-CH2-X-Y-H, et à diviser le 2-octène substitué en position 1 en 1-octène.
