ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Process for preparing 2,3-dichlorothiophene The invention relates to the preparation of 2,3-dichloro- thiophene by chlorinating 3-chlorothiophene or by isomer- izing 2-chlorothiophene to 3-chlorothiophene and subse- quently chlorinating the latter. The isomerization is generally carried out by means of a zeolite catalyst.
