Abstract 2-Hydroxy-2-phenylethylamines are prepared by the direct reaction of a silylated derivative of the desired amine with an appropriately substituted styrene oxide, and hydrolyzing the silylated intermediate thus prepared, so as to provide pharmacologically useful derivatives.
