ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to the process for preparing 2-oxo-1,2,3, 4-tetrahydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines of the formula : Image wherein R is selected from the group consisting of phenyl and substituted phenyl ; R' is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, unsaturated lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl, lower alkoxycarbonyl and aralkyl. The compounds prepared according to the process of the present invention possess a high degree of pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcerative, analgetic, antipyretic, antihistaminic and central nervous system depressive activities, and certain of them are useful as new anti-inflammatory agents, analgesics and central nervous system depressants.
