PROCESS FOR PREPARING 6-AMINO-1,2-DIHYDRO-1-HYDROXY- -2-IMINO-4-PIPERIDINOPYRIMIDINE Abstract The invention relates to a new process for preparing 6-amino-1,2-dihydro-1-hydroxy-2-imino-4-piperi- dinopyrimidine of the formula (I), Image (I) which comprises reacting a pyrimidine derivative of the general formula (II), Image (II) wherein R1 stands for hydrogen or a -?-R group, wherein - 2 - R means a C1-6 alkyl group or an aryl group optionally substituted by halogen; R2 stands for a hydroxyl group or an -O-?-R group, wherein R is as defined above; and X represents chlorine or bromine or an optionally mono- or polysubstituted arenesulfonyloxy group, with the proviso that R2 is different from a hydroxyl group when R1 stands for hydrogen, with piperidine and hydrolyzing, optionally after isolation, the thus- -obtained 4-piperidino derivative of the general formula (III), Image (III) wherein R1 and R2 are as defined above.
