Elle concerne plus particulièrement un procédé dans lequel le cyclohexane est oxydé à l'air pour produire un mélange contenant de l'hydroperoxyde de cyclohexyle et dans lequel cet hydroperoxyde est décomposé en présence de cyclohexane pour former le cyclohexanol et la cyclohexanone, la décomposition étant conduite en présence d'un composé du ruthénium soluble dans le milieu réactionnel et d'un coordinat dont le squelette est celui de la bis(pyridyl-2 imino)-1,3 isoindoline.
