ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In the preparation of expanded polyvinyl chloride foam product by molding a polyvinyl chloride resin composi- tion comprising a crosslinkable vinyl chloride copolymer, a plasticizer, a crosslinking agent, a chemical blowing agent and an additive, if the crosslinkable polyvinyl copolymer is obtained by emulsion copolymerization of vinyl chloride monomer and a comonomer having hydroxyl group or a group capable of producing hydroxyl group in molecule, and the molding of the resin composition is held at a temperature lower than the melting temperature of said composition and, thereafter, the resulting molded product is heated at a temperature higher than the melting tempera- ture, a foamed polyvinyl chloride product which is extremely high in extend of foaming (at least 15 times) and smooth in surface and has excellent physical properties such as fire retardance and weathering resistance can be easily and inexpensively obtained.
