An industrially advantageous process for preparing a layered hydrogel product, which comprises pouring into a mold of a desired shape an aqueous solution (I) containing at least one gelling agent, and an aqueous solution (II) containing xanthan gum and at least one thickening agent selected from a group of locust bean gum, tara gum, cassia gum and glucomannan, separately or simultaneously; and cooling the resultant to dive a layered hydrogel product.
