There is disclosed a process for preparing a sulfonated chitosan wherein C3/C6-position hydroxyl groups are selectively sulfonated with inexpensive sulfonating agents which comprises dissolving or swelling chitosan in an acetic acid in water, regenerating chitosan with an alkaline aqueous solution, washing the regenerated chitosan with water and then with alcohol, immersing the chitosan in a polar solvent and pressing the solvent out of the same and sulfonating the chitosan with SO3-DMF complex or ClHSO3an -DMF complex in a non-polar solvent. Separation of the product can be easily effected by way of filtration and the like.
L'invention porte sur un procédé permettant de préparer un chitosane sulfoné dans lequel les groupes hydroxyles en position C3/C6 sont sélectivement sulfonés avec des agents de sulfonation peu coûteux; le procédé comprend la dissolution du chitosane ou son immersion, en vue de le faire gonfler, dans une solution aqueuse d'acide acétique, la régénération du chitosane avec une solution aqueuse alcaline, le lavage du chitosane régénéré avec de l'eau puis avec de l'alcool, l'immersion du chitosane dans un solvant polaire puis l'extraction du solvant par pressurage, et la sulfonation du chitosane avec le complexe SO3-DMF ou ClHSO3ane-DMF dans un solvant non polaire. Le produit peut être facilement séparé par filtration ou par un procédé semblable.
