ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is provided for preparing adhesive repellent coatings. The process includes applying to the surface to be rendered adhesive repel- lent a mixture of four components. The first is a diorganopolysiloxane having terminal Si-bonded vinyl groups, but which is otherwise free of ali- phatic multiple bonds. The second is an organopolysiloxane having at least 3-Si-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule. The third is a vinylsiloxane platinum complex which is essentially free of halogen. The fourth is a compound which retards or delays the addition of Si-bonded hydrogen to aliphatic multiple bonds at room temperature. That fourth compound may be. an organic silicon compound or an organosilicon compound having a boil- ing point of at least 25°C at 760 mm Hg (absolute) and at least one ali- phatic triple bond and are free of nitrogen and phosphorous atoms as well as carboxyl group which are in an alpha position in relation to a carbon atom from which aliphatic triple bond originates, as well as mereapte and carboxyl groups. The process then includes the step of crosslinking the diorganopolysiloxane. The composition used in the process has a longer pot life. The adhesive repellent coatings so formed exhibit improved mechanical strength.
