The invention relates to a process for the direct preparation of alkali metal cyanide and alkaline earth metal cyanide granules from an HCN-containing gas and an aqueous solution or suspension of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide. The reaction is preformed in a reactor for fluidised bed spray granulation, wherein a solution or suspension of the hydroxide is sprayed onto seed granules of the cyanide being prepared, and at the same time a hydrogen cyanide-containing gas is supplied to the reactor and water is evaporated by means of a fluidising gas. The preferred fluidising gas is steam. The reaction gases from a BMA or Andrussow process may be quenched with water and the gas mixture used as the fluidising gas. By using a CO2-free HCN-containing gas, alkali metal cyanide granules with an outstanding combination of properties, including a concentration of alkali metal carbonate and alkali metal formate together of less then 0.4 wt.%, are obtainable.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour la préparation directe de granules de cyanure de métal alcalin et de cyanure de métal alcalino-terreux à partir d'un gaz contenant du HCN et d'une solution ou d'une suspension aqueuse d'un hydroxyde de métal alcalin ou de métal alcalino-terreux. La réaction est préformée dans un réacteur de granulation par pulvérisation en lit fluidisé, dans lequel une solution ou une suspension de l'hydroxyde est pulvérisée sur des granules germes du cyanure en voie de préparation, pendant que le réacteur est alimenté par un gaz contenant du cyanure d'hydrogène, et l'eau est évaporée au moyen d'un gaz de fluidisation. Le gaz de fluidisation de choix est la vapeur. Les gaz de réaction d'un procédé BMA ou Andrussow peuvent être piégés avec de l'eau et le mélange gazeux peut être utilisé comme gaz de fluidisation. Grâce à l'utilisation d'un gaz sans CO2 et contenant du HCN, on peut obtenir des granules de cyanure de métal alcalin offrant une combinaison exceptionnelle de propriétés, dont une concentration de carbonate et de formiate de métal alcalin n'excédant pas, dans l'ensemble, 0,4 % en poids.
