The invention relates to a novel process for preparation of amlodipine benzenesulphonate of formula (I) by reacting a new 2-[/2-N-(2-carboxy-benzoyl)- aminoethoxy/methyl/]-4-(2-chlorophenyl)-3-ethoxycarbonyl-5-methoxycarbonyl-6- methyl- 1,4-dihydropyridine derivative of general formula (II) wherein X represents hydrogen or alkali metal or alkali earth metal or quaternary ammonium - with benzenesulphonic acid.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de préparation de benzènesulphonate d'almodipine représenté par la formule (I). Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir avec un acide sulfonique de benzène, un nouveau dérivé de 2-[/2-N-(2-carboxy-benzoyle)-aminoéthoxy/méthyle/]-4-(2-chlorophényle)-3-éthoxycarbonyle-5-méthyoxycarbonyle-6-mthyle-1,4-dihydropyridine représenté par la formule générale (II) dans laquelle X est hydrogène ou métal alcalin ou métal alcalino-terreux ou ammonium quaternaire.
