A process for preparing an antifungal azole compound of formula (I) by reacting an epoxide with hydrazine to form a hydrazino compound which is subsequently reacted with an iminoether. The amidrazone product is subsequently reacted with an orthoformate to provide the antifungal azole. The azole, known as ZD0870, shows good activity against human fungal infections including Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans and Aspergillus fumigatus.

Procédé de préparation d'un composé antifongique de type azole représenté par la formule (I), par mise en réaction d'un époxyde avec de l'hydrazine, afin d'obtenir un composé hydrazino mis ensuite en réaction avec un iminoéther. Le produit d'amidrazone est ensuite mis en réaction avec un orthoformate, afin d'obtenir l'azole antifongique. Celui-ci, connu en tant que ZD0870, est efficace contre les infections fongiques chez l'homme, telles que Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans et Aspergillus fumigatus.
