Process for the preparation of an epoxidation catalyst which process comprises (a) drying a silica gel carrier having a weight average particle size of from 0.1 to 2 millimetre at a temperature of from more than 200 to 300 ~C, and (b) contacting the carrier obtained in step (a) with a gas stream containing titanium halide to obtain an impregnated carrier, and the use of such II catalyst in the preparation of alkylene oxide.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un catalyseur d'époxydation qui consiste : (a) à faire sécher un support de gel de silice présentant une granulométrie moyenne en poids comprise entre 0,1 et 2 millimètres à une température comprise entre au moins 200 et 300 ·C ; et (b) à mettre le support obtenu à l'étape (a) en contact avec un courant gazeux contenant de l'halogénure de titane afin qu'on obtienne un support imprégné. Cette invention concerne également l'utilisation de ce catalyseur dans la préparation d'oxyde d'alkylène.
