A PROCESS FOR PREPARING AN IMPACT RESISTANT THERMOPLASTIC GRAFT COPOLYMER COMPOSITION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for preparing an impact resistant thermo- plastic graft copolymer composition is provided wherein: (1) small-sized rubber particles in the starting base rubber latex are efficiently and economically agglomerated by treating small-sized rubber latex with an addition of a carboxylic acid containing copolymer latex comprised of a specific carboxylic acid compound and an alkyl acrylate under the specified conditions; (2) the agglomeration rubber latex is stabilized with addition of a nonionic emulsifier, and; (3) the agglomerated and stabilized rubber latex is graft polymerized with a monomer which is capable of produc- ing a glassy thermoplastic resin under the specified conditions. - 1 -
