A process for preparing low dusting, easily dispersible, surfactant-coated pigments, without micronization, wherein pigments in an aqueous slurry are milled, then treated with a surfactant while being maintained within a certain pH range, and spray-dried, is disclosed. The invention also provides the free- flowing pigments produced by this process.

Ce procédé, qui permet de préparer des pigments à faible taux de poussières, facilement dispersibles et recouverts d'agents tensio-actifs, sans micronisation, consiste à broyer des pigments d'une boue aqueuse puis à les traiter avec un agent tensio-actif tout en les maintenant dans une certaine fourchette de pH, et à les sécher par pulvérisation. On décrit aussi les pigments à flux libre obtenus avec ce procédé.
