A process for preparing bromodifluoroacetylfluoride characterized in that a gaseous stream of oxygen-diluted ozone is reacted, at temperatures ranging from -100°C to +80°C, with 1,4-dibromohexafluorobutene-2 optionally dissolved in a solvent which is inert under the reaction conditions, with consequent obtaining of the corresponding ozonide and, subsequently, the ozonide is subjected to a heat treatment at temperatures ranging from 100 to 300°C, with consequent obtaining of bromodifluoroacetylfluoride.
