ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Polyepoxide resins are adducted with polyamines using an excess of the amine. After the adducting reaction is completed, the excess unreacted polyamine is removed. The adduct is then reacted with a monoepoxide or a monocarboxylic acid. When salted with an acid, the resinous adducts are water soluble or water dispersible. The resin solutions or dispersions are particularly useful in cathodic electrodeposition processes for prime coating metal objects.
