ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides ethyleneglycol diesters having the general formula (I) X-C(O)O-CH2-CH2-OC(O)-Y (I) wherein Y is 2,4-dichlorophenyl and X is selected from 3-pyridyl and 4-chlorophenoxy-isopropyl, which have pharmaceutical properties and in particular have interesting therapeutic applications as hypolipidemic drugs in the treatment of arterio- sclerosis.
