The present invention provides a process for the preparation of detergent builder Zeolite-A from Kimberlite tailing generated as solid waste during diamond mining is disclosed. The process comprises, reacting an acid treated Kimberlite tailing with alkali solution to obtain sodium silicate and reacting it with alkaline aluminium source at room temperature and crystallizing at higher temperature to obtain Zeolite-A. The product is useful as builder in detergent formulation.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de l'adjuvant pour détergent Zéolite A à partir de résidus de kimberlite générés sous forme de déchets solides pendant l~extraction de diamants. Le procédé comprend la réaction de résidus de kimberlite traités à l'acide avec une solution alcaline pour obtenir du silicate de sodium, la réaction de ce dernier avec une source alcaline d'aluminium à la température ambiante et la cristallisation à une température supérieure pour obtenir la zéolite A. Le produit est utile comme adjuvant dans une formulation de détergent.
