The novel process for preparing dialkyl dicarbonates by reacting the corresponding alkyl haloformates with alkali metal hydroxides, alkaline earth metal hydroxides and/or carbonates in the presence of water-immiscible organic solvents and in the presence of a catalyst is characterized in that the catalyst used is at least one tertiary alkylamine of the formula (I) NR1R2R3 (I), where the substituents are each as defined in the description.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour la production de bicarbonates de dialkyle par réaction d'alkylesters d'acide haloformique appropriés avec des hydroxydes alcalins ou alcalinoterreux et/ou des carbonates alcalins ou alcalinoterreux en présence de solvants organiques non miscibles à l'eau et en présence d'un catalyseur. Ce procédé est caractérisé en ce que l'on utilise comme catalyseur au moins une alkylamine tertiaire de formule (I) NR?1¿R?2¿R?3¿ (I), dans laquelle les substituants ont la signification indiquée dans la description.
