ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure describes a process for preparing difluoromethoxy derivatives of aromatic aldehydes having a common formula: Image wherein: Ar represents an aromatic radical selected from the group consisting of the benzene and naphthalene rings; n is an integer which is 1 or 2. The above- mentioned process comprises the interaction between corres- ponding mono- or dihydroxy derivatives of aromatic aldehydes and difluoro-chloromethane at 60-70°C in the presence of caustic alkali taken in an amount of 6 to 10 moles per 1 mole of starting hydroxyaldehyde derivative. This process simplifies the preparation of difluoromethoxy derivatives of aromatic aldehydes and, at the same time, increases the yield of the end products.
