Described is a method of producing emulsion polymers on an industrial scale from at least partially hydrophobic monomers in an agitator reactor vessel with a useful volume of 2 to 80 m3, using a metering technique with a monomer- addition rate of 15 to 60 % by wt. per hour of the total amount of monomer to be added, by polymerizing and distilling a water/monomer mixture under reduced pressure and feeding the condensed water/monomer mixture back to the reactor vessel.
On peut fabriquer industriellement un polymérisat en émulsion à partir de monomères au moins partiellement hydrophobes, dans un réacteur muni d'un agitateur et ayant un volume utile de 2 à 80 m?3¿, en ajoutant par heure, d'une manière dosée, 15 à 60 % du poids total des monomères à ajouter, en polymérisant, en distillant un mélange eau/monomère sous pression réduite et en recyclant le mélange eau/monomère condensé par refroidissement.
