PROCESS FOR PREPARING FENOLDOPAM 4',8-BIS-HYDROGEN SULFATES Abstract of the Disclosure The process for preparing fenoldopam 4',8-bis- hydrogen sulfate, its isomers and the salts thereof, which are prodrugs useful for inducing extended dopaminergic activity, comprises reacting the fenoldopam compound with an excess of pyridine-sulfur trioxide. Useful species prepared using the process include the monosodium salts of fenoldopam 4',8-bis-hydrogen sulfate or its R-isomer. These are prepared by treating the corresponding ammonium salt with an aqueous sodium carbonate or bicarbonate solution.
