Le 1,1,1,3,3-pentachloropropane et le 1,1,1,3,3-pentachlorobutane sont ainsi préparés dans des conditions douces avec un bon rendement et le système catalyseur/cocatalyseur peut être aisément séparé par distillation et recyclé.
