ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE N-(Haloheterocyclic-aminocarbonyl)aromatic sulfonamides, useful as herbicides or as intermediates thereto, are made by contacting haloheterocyclic iso- cyanates with aromatic sulfonamides. The resulting compounds may be further contacted with selected nucleophiles to yield herbicidal N-(substituted heterocyclic-aminocarbonyl)-aromatic sulfonamides.
