A process for producing alkali metal isethionate ethoxyIates by reacting an alkali metal isethionate and a polyoI, the mole ratio of polyol to alkali metal isethionate being greater than about 7:1, the reaction mixture produced being neutralized with a non-oxidizing inorganic acid to produce a neutralized reaction mixture from which the alkali metal isethionate ethoxylate is recovered.

Procédé de production d'éthoxylates d'iséthionate de métal alcalin, consistant à faire réagir un iséthionate de métal alcalin et un polyol, le rapport molaire entre le polyol et l'iséthionate étant supérieur à environ 7:1, et le mélange de réaction produit étant neutralisé à l'aide d'un acide inorganique non oxydant afin d'obtenir un mélange de réaction neutralisé à partir duquel on récupère l'éthoxylate d'iséthionate de métal alcalin.
