Isocyanates are prepared by a continuous process, by reacting appropriate primary amines with phosgene in the presence of an isocyanate as solvent. The primary amine optionally dissolved in an inert organic solvent is reacted with phosgene, which is dissolved in the isocyanate, at temperatures of between 60 and 150 ~C and pressures of between 1 and 30 bar (105 to 3.106Pa) to form the corresponding isocyanate. The molar ratio of phosgene to the amine used is between 4:1 and 1:1. The isocyanate used as solvent is free from solids and has a hydrolizable chlorine value of less than 2 %.

Des isocyanates sont obtenus selon un procédé continu, par réaction d'amines primaires appropriées avec du phosgène en présence d'un isocyanate comme solvant. L'amine primaire éventuellement dissoute dans un solvant organique inerte est mise à réagir avec le phosgène dissous dans l'isocyanate, à des températures comprises entre 60 et 150 ~C et à des pressions comprises entre 1 et 30 bar (10?5¿ à 3.10?6¿Pa), pour former l'isocyanate correspondant. Le rapport molaire du phosgène à l'amine utilisée est compris entre 4:1 et 1:1. L'isocyanate utilisé comme solvant est exempt de solide et comporte un indice de chlore hydrolysable inférieur à 2 %.
