ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a process for preparing oxidation pro- ducts of monoalkyl benzene compounds by means of a gas containing molecular oxygen. This invention provides the possibility of processing the oxidation reaction mixture in a simple way into a number of desired products, such as, in particular, benzoic acid, benzaldehyde, and also benzyl benzoate and benzyl alcohol, in a pure state. According to the invention, oxidation products of monoalkyl benzene compounds are prepared by oxidizing a monoalkyl benzene com- pound by means of a gas containing molecular oxygen, after which the oxidation reaction mixture is subjected to a carboxylic acid esterification reaction.
